Client: Southport Yacht Club
Date: 2017
Location: Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

About This Project
The Challenge
Southport Yacht Club needed to extend its marina with 32 new berths, ranging in size from 12m to 50m super yachts - requiring a layout that could handle flood flows and debris from the Nerang River while meeting the relevant Australian Standards.
The Solution
ICM's preliminary design determined design conditions from previous investigations and developed an optimal marina layout addressing vessel spread, flood mitigation, pontoon characteristics, pile sizing, gangway alignment (including arched gangways onto super yacht fingers) and required services (power, water, sullage, lighting and firefighting).
ICM prepared full tender documentation, approvals, and acted as Contract Superintendent across two separate extension contracts, physically inspecting completed works against the accepted design drawings and technical specifications, and managing contract administration and progress reporting throughout.
