A staged closure and dredging approach was developed to suit available plant, tide-window constraints and rapidly changing inlet conditions. The methodology supported safe delivery, considered hydraulic and morphological changes as the closure advanced, and helped achieve a successful emergency outcome with restored navigation access.

Selected through the City of Oceanside’s RE:BEACH competition, the Living Speed Bumps pilot is now being progressed through detailed design. The approach pairs compact headlands and an offshore reef with nourishment to retain sand longer while maintaining beach amenity and ecological value.

This project compiled and screened a wide range of coastal adaptation measures for Joondalup’s open-coast compartments, drawing on existing studies and global practice. ICM led emergency works at Surfers Paradise Hardstand after TC Alfred - rapid design, materials procurement, approvals, and support.

ICM delivered an independent peer review of Torres Strait Islands seawall designs for Iama, Masig and Warraber islands.

ICM’s Cape Cod study assessed erosion risks and set flexible protection options from soft measures to upgrades and regional sand strategies.
