About This Project
The Challenge
The floating pontoon swimming structure at Broadwater Parklands, known as the Stickman, needed a Safety in Design assessment to confirm it could be used safely by the public.
The Solution
ICM undertook a Safety in Design assessment for the structure, liaising with the pontoon manufacturer, City of Gold Coast and Surf Life Saving Queensland to evaluate the design in regard to safety risks. The Safety in Design Report provided recommendations for risk mitigation and an ongoing framework to manage risk at the site, ensuring the public can safely enjoy the local amenity.
The framework developed through this assessment led to a larger risk assessment in 2022, looking at the full network of swim enclosures managed by the City.
